Introducing The Commissioners' Awards.

These Awards have been developed to celebrate some of the great Commissioning Activity that has been taking place within Health & Adult Social Care over the last few years. These two awards, to be nominated, shortlisted and voted on by people from within the sector, will be awarded on 18th November during The Commissioners' Conference.

The two inaugural awards are the Innovation and Coproduction in Commissioning Award and the Commissioner of the Year Award. 

Innovation and Coproduction in Commissioning Award
 

This award recognises outstanding examples of innovative commissioning practice that place co-production and lived experience at the heart of design and delivery. It celebrates work that demonstrates creativity in approach, meaningful engagement with individuals and communities, and a clear focus on improving outcomes.

Nominations should clearly evidence not only that co-production has taken place, but how lived experience has actively and tangibly shaped commissioning decisions, service design, and ways of working. This should include how engagement has influenced change in relationships, practice, and outcomes for individuals and communities. Submissions should demonstrate positive impact, community benefit, and value for money, including innovative or collaborative approaches that balance creativity with realistic cost considerations and deliver sustainable improvements across human, system, and financial outcomes.

Commissioner of the Year Award
 

This award recognises an exceptional commissioner who has demonstrated outstanding practice and made a significant contribution over the past year. Nominations should be submitted by peers or colleagues and clearly set out the individual's achievements, approach, and impact, supported by strong evidence and narrative examples.

The award celebrates excellence in commissioning practice, recognising individuals who not only deliver strong outcomes but consistently demonstrate values led behaviours. This includes effective partnership working, collaboration, integrity, and the way individuals build trust, influence others, and work constructively with colleagues, partners, and communities. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge those whose leadership, professionalism, and commitment have made a meaningful and tangible difference to services, relationships, and the communities they serve.

Nominations can be either individuals or Teams/ Services. Nominations can be made up to 18th September 2026, voting for shortlisted nominees will take place between 7th October and 4th November 2026
